Congruence

[ Definition ]
Considérons un entier strictement positif \(n \in \mathbb{N}^*\) et deux entiers \((a, b) \in \mathbb{Z}^{2}\). On dit que l’entier \(a\) est congru à l’entier \(b\) modulo \(n\), et l’on note \(a \equiv b \; [n]\) lorsque l’entier \(n\) divise l’entier \((b-a)\) : \[a \equiv b \; [n] \Longleftrightarrow n | (b - a).\]
