Coordonnées polaires d’un point

[ Definition ]
On rapporte le plan \(\mathscr P\) à un repère orthonormal direct \(\mathscr R\)\((O,\overrightarrow{\imath },\overrightarrow{\jmath})\). On dit que \(\left(r,\theta\right)\in\mathbb{R}^2\) est un couple de coordonnées polaires pour le point \(M\left(x,y\right) \in \mathscr P\) si et seulement si \(\boxed{\left\{\begin{array}{c} x=r\,\cos \theta \newline y=r\,\sin \theta \end{array}\right.}\)
